Back in 1975, Scott’s father, Bob Dennison, opened Bob Dennison Home Improvements. As Roofing Contractors in St. Joseph, Bob grew his business to include roofing contractors from Stevensville, Benton Harbor and Berrien County, in Michigan. In 2003, Scott grew that area to include roofing contractors in Granger and South Bend, Indiana as well as Northwest Indiana.
In 2003, Scott Dennison departed from Bob Dennison Home Improvements, a roofing company, to establish his own enterprise, primarily focused on gutters and Gutter Topper. This strategic move was intended to avoid direct competition with his father’s business, leading to the adoption of a generic business name, Dennison Exterior Solutions.
Following his father’s retirement in 2015 and the closure of his company, Scott’s business experienced rapid growth and became the region’s leading roofing contractor. This success was not only measured by the number of completed projects but also by the positive reviews received from consumers and manufacturers. Scott’s contributions have been recognized with the highest roofing certification in the area as a SELECT ShingleMaster by CertainTeed Corporation. Additionally, he has been designated as the region’s expert in roofing technology through his membership in the Professional Roofers Advisory Council.
When Scott’s business commenced operations in 2003, the telephone book served as the primary means of consumer discovery. However, the advent of the internet has revolutionized business search, enabling consumers to conveniently locate services tailored to their specific needs. Recognizing the importance of enhanced visibility, Scott Dennison has recently made the decision to rebrand his business as Dennison Roofing & Gutter Toppers.
Scott’s youngest son Brent decided to join his father in the business full-time by handling many of the roofing and gutter services and gutter installation in Southwest Michigan with a specific emphasis on roof repairs, roof replacements and roof inspections.
